University of Arizona–Banner Health Data Fellows Program

Application Closed

The University of Arizona Data Fellows Program recruits up to 15 graduate students, postdoctoral trainees, and junior faculty to conduct scientific investigations using the All of Us Researcher Workbench. This yearly program provides six months of training and mentored research in addition to professional development opportunities. Fellows also receive a $2,000 stipend upon program completion.

The didactic curriculum includes topics such as cultural awareness, responsible conduct of research, All of Us study design, common data models for observational health data, programming in R and Python, common genomic data tools, and best practices for working in cloud environments.

Data fellows complete original research projects in the Researcher Workbench and emerge with skills to facilitate future research projects using the dataset. The goal is for fellows to develop a manuscript and eventually help advance the use of the Researcher Workbench at their home institution.
